




Keith Thraen-Borowski, Ph.D.
CARES Lab Director
Dr. Thraen-Borowski is an Assistant Professor of Kinesiology & Biology at Loras College. He holds a Ph.D. in Kinesiology with a specialization in Physical Activity Epidemiology and has completed fellowships in Cancer Epidemiology & Supportive Oncology. Areas of research include physical activity and sedentary behavior as it relates to health outcomes, specifically cancer prognosis and quality of life.
The Sed-Hap Study
This purpose of this study is to objectively measure and describe sedentary behavior in college-enrolled men and women while also testing the effectiveness of various feedback mechanisms used in commercial fitness trackers to lessen sedentary time.
Current Studies
Community-based Physical Activity Program for Cancer Survivors
This trial tests the feasibility and the effectiveness of a physical activity intervention in the community setting to improve quality of life in cancer patients from the greater Dubuque, IA area.
